  • What happens if my goods are damaged during transport?

At Pegar Transport, we pride ourselves on handling your goods with the utmost care. However, senders will need to arrange transit insurance to fully cover any losses or damage.

We recommend insurance is taken out prior to despatching goods, and, in the event a claim needs to be made, we will supply all the relevant documentation to support your claim and assist you with the process.

  • How should I prepare goods for transport?

All goods should be securely sealed into a box or container for easy transport. To prevent movement during transport, we recommend packing goods with bubble wrap, foam inserts, or paper and cardboard fillers.

Each package or container should also have a single, clear label with:

    • Sender's name
    • Receiver's name
    • Receiver's address
    • Consignment note number
    • Number & total of cartons, eg, 1 of 4, 2 of 4, and so on.
  • What goods can't be shipped?

Here at Pegar Transport, we take safety and security very seriously. As such, we don't carry dangerous goods, live animals, illegal contraband or goods that are classified as explosive.

In some cases, however, we are able to carry small amounts of dangerous goods or foodstuffs.

  • What is a consignment note?

A consignment note is the label that needs to be attached to your box or container before pick-up. It contains all relevant details including barcodes for online tracking systems.

It's important to ensure all the details on your consignment note are correct before attaching it to the outside of your freight as directed for prompt pick-up of your goods.

  • Can you assist me with packing my goods?

It's important that your goods are packed to meet the standards set by manufacturers, or to a reasonable equivalent.

We aim to assist you with your transport needs in every aspect, however packing assistance is dependent on goods and location.
